Crinklefilms Limited was incorporated in 1996 in Cork, Ireland, to facilitate the production of independent art and educational films using mainly animation and experimental filmmaking techniques. The studio is set up for 16 mm production and editing as well as for digital filmmaking.

Crinklefilms educational film productions have been funded by Cork County Council, while art film projects have been funded by the Irish Film Board, RTE, The Northern Ireland Film Board and The Irish Arts Council.

Crinklefilms art film productions THE IMPERIAL MESSAGE, AUNT BRIDGET and ..JOY.. opened the Cork International Film Festival in 1996, 2003 and 2006.
